Link to Rotary International

Our link with Rotary International dates back to the conception of the organization.  Robert H. Opira and Godfrey G. Mukalazi were inspired by the Rotary World Peace Fellowship they attended at University of Queensland in Australia between 2004 and 2007. The two Alumni conceived and established GLACCR to enable them put to practice the knowledge and skills they acquired during their Rotary World Peace Fellowship.

Robert is the Executive Director and is a Rotarian at Rotary Club of Gulu, Uganda - District 9200 where he also serves as a secretary to the club 2009-2010. Godfrey is the Chairman Board of Directors and he works with Uganda Joint Christian Council as a Programme Officer – Peacebuilding.

Projects with Rotary International

The Rotary Club of Source of the Nile in Uganda (District 9200) and District 6060 and 7300 are working on a Matching Grant to buy a 4WD all terrain vehicle for GLACCR to facillitate its field activities.

District 6060 and 9200 both under Future Vision are working on a matching grant for Peace Education to be implementedd by GLACCR. The project will be hosted by a local club in Uganda
